Be it any flavour of the Middle class (lower middle, middle middle, upper middle), The ultimate dream is to own a house. Once you started dreaming of buying/building a home you start thinking about it every time. Well am no different from any. After five years of working for a software company am finally in a position to be eligible to dream about buying an appt. (mainly because I was posted at onsite for about an year). Which ever home I visited I started gathering, or rather day dreaming then and there I should say on how things from that house will fit in my dream home. Things starting from door designs to sanitary ware brands mattered.
There are three reasons for why I wanted to buy an house.
- Am little bad about investing/saving my money properly. So buying a house seemed a proper investment option. Instead of paying 10K to15K rent in Bangalore I thought it is better to pay EMI with that money so that I would have some asset in long run.
- Prospects were better if a guy owns a house in the marriage market. (This was one main criteria when we were selecting groom for my sister)
- My dad had built a house of his own before his marriage. He has started mentioning this to me more quiet often meaning its now my turn to do the same.
One more reason was I thought I should have a permanent address in Bangalore. This might seem petty but for some reason I always had this thought.
By the time I became mentally prepared I got posted from EGL to Manyata. That posting actually made quited an impact in my dream house.
I have now finally decided to buy an apartment near Hosa road junction (JANA-JEEVA-SPLENDOUR-II). What all I did to arrive at a decision and what am I going to do, I need to record it some where. This seems such a giant step and a life changing decision i have taken in my life. I got to look after 30 - 35 yrs at this. Now since I don't have a dairy at the moment (spent more than an hour searching for a dairy in BTM area near my room but all efforts wasted) am going to put all these things in my blog.
